STAND OF COLORS will be a re-enactment of the area border battles and campaigns in 1864 including the Battle of Westport, a local Civil War battle that is termed the “Gettysburg of the West” and was a turning point not only in the Civil War but in the history of our country.

The event is being sponsored by the North/South Alliance, a western theater reenactment organization that is a joint endeavor of the First Federal Division (Union) and the (Confederate) Army of Tennessee.

The event is being presented by the Downtown Kansas City Missouri Rotary Club, and all proceeds will go to their Rotary Camp, which serves the needs of over 1,500 handicapped and developmentally-disabled youths through a variety of summer programs at their camp facility.
